Western TVET College Nsfas Application
National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a state entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training. NSFAS provides financial assistance in the form of a study bursary to qualifying students who wish to study or are already studying at TVET colleges and public universities.

Nsfas Online Application Opens 1 September and closes November 30, 2022.
Western TVET College Nsfas funds the following;
- Registration
- Tuition
Western TVET College Nsfas Allowances for funded Applicants:
- Food
- Accommodation or transport
- Personal care
In order to be a qualified NSFAS Applicant;
- Be a South African citizen.
- You need to be enrolled or intending to enrol for the NC (V) programs at any of the 50 public FET colleges in South Africa.
- Be in need of financial assistance.
- Be able to demonstrate potential for academic success.
- SASSA grant recipients or
- Your combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year or
- A person with a disability with a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per year or
To apply for the NSFAS bursary, the following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;
- Identity Document/Birth Certificate
- Latest Academic Results
- Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
- Death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
- Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)
Who qualifies for NSFAS
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be registered or intend to register for NCV or NATED (Report 191) Programme
- Persons in need of financial support.
- Academically good students who need financial support.
The following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;
- Original copies of Identity Document/Birth Certificate
- Original Academic Results Latest
- A Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
- A Proof death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
- Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)
How to Apply
Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account
Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and answer the questions on the screen
Step 4: Upload the required supporting documents then click on ‘submit
