How to Sign the NSFAS NBA (National Bursary Agreement):
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) plays a significant role in helping South African students access higher education through bursaries and financial support. One of the major steps in finalising your funding for the 2027/2028 academic year is signing your NSFAS Bursary Agreement (NBA). This agreement confirms that you understand and accept the terms and conditions of your NSFAS funding. Without signing your NBA, your bursary will not be activated, and payments for your tuition, accommodation, and allowances will be delayed.
Students who received NSFAS funding for the first time in 2020 or later do not need to sign a new NBA, as they already completed this process during their initial application. However, students who were funded in 2019 or earlier must ensure that their NSFAS Bursary Agreement is signed to continue receiving financial support.
The signing process for the NSFAS NBA 2027/2028 is simple and can be completed online. Students will receive an email containing a secure link to sign their agreement. After entering their ID number, a One-Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to their registered cellphone number. Once the OTP is entered, students can complete the signing process and receive confirmation that their terms and conditions have been successfully submitted.
It is important to remember that students under the age of 18 must have their parent or legal guardian sign the agreement on their behalf. Signing your NSFAS NBA 2027/2028 ensures your funding is secure and your academic journey continues without interruption.
