Who Is Eligible For Nsfas Registration 2025/2026

You qualify to apply for NSFAS financial aid if you:

  • You are a South African citizen;
  • Your combined annual household income does not exceed R350 000 per annum;
  • You are a SASSA grant recipient;
  • You are registering for the first time for an undergraduate qualification at a public university, or are registered at a TVET college for one of the National Certificate Vocational or Report 191 programmes;
  • You are applying to study at a public university or TVET college for a qualification;
  • You are an already registered university student with an annual household income of less than R122 000 per year;
  • You have passed Grades 9 & 10 to receive NSFAS funding to study at a TVET college;
  • You have passed Grade 12 to receive NSFAS funding to study at a university.

Nsfas 2025/2026 Registration Process.

Below are the steps to follow when registering for NSFAS funding:

Create a myNSFAS account:

  • Visit the NSFAS website (www.nsfas.org.za) and create a myNSFAS account by providing your details, such as your name, email address, and South African ID number.

Verify your email address:

  • After registering for a myNSFAS account, you will receive an email to verify your email address. Click on the verification link provided to activate your account.

Log in to your myNSFAS account:

  • Use your email address and password to log in to your myNSFAS account. This account will be your primary source of information and updates throughout the application process.

Complete the online application form:

  • Once logged in, complete the online application form by providing your personal, academic, and financial information. Ensure that all the required fields are filled in accurately.
