Nsfas Online Application Date Open 2025/2026

  • If you wish to study or are already studying at a public university or TVET college and come from a family with an income of R350 000 or less, then apply for Nsfas.
  • Nsfas will be opening its online application window for the 2025/2026 academic year from the 21st of November 2024 and the online application will be closing on the 31st of  January 2025.

Who Qualifies For NSFAS 2025/2026

You qualify to apply for NSFAS financial aid if you:

  • You are a South African citizen;
  • Your combined annual household income does not exceed R350 000 per annum;
  • You are a SASSA grant recipient;
  • You are registering for the first time for an undergraduate qualification at a public university, or are registered at a TVET college for one of the National Certificate Vocational or Report 191 programmes;
  • You are applying to study at a public university or TVET college for a qualification;
  • You are an already registered university student with an annual household income of less than R122 000 per year;
  • You have passed Grades 9 & 10 to receive NSFAS funding to study at a TVET college;
  • You have passed Grade 12 to receive NSFAS funding to study at a university.

Documents Required To Apply For NSFAS

Here is what you need to apply for NSFAS online:

  • Your own cellphone number and email address
  • Copy of your ID or birth certificate
  • ID copies of parents, guardians or spouse
  • Your proof of income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable)
  • Your parents, guardian or spouse’s proof of income
  • If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required

How to Apply for NSFAS Online 2025/2026

  • Visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za online
  • Click on the “myNSFAS” tab
  • Create your myNSFAS account
  • After creating myNSFAS account, you then have to click on the “Apply” tab
  • Answer the following questions you see on your screen
  • Update all your personal information
  • Upload all the required supporting documents
  • Click on “Submit” to send your application for review.
